Vietnam born and Brooklyn bred;
Richie Yen
was inspired by the streets that surrounded him. The
grind and hustle mentality instilled within him is the
product of his upbringing and is used today as his
motivation to be on the forefront of the fashion,
music and entertainment industry.
Engulfed in the hip hop b-boy life style Richie Yen
became an avid collector of rare and exotic articles of
clothing and footwear that would come to define his
unconventional style. During his time in high school
his collection grew to over one thousand pieces from
each part of the hip hop fashion spectrum.
As Richie Yen began to network with fellow fashion
aficionados nationwide he began to realize that he
could share his personal style with the masses by creating
a zone where his fashion counterparts could
congregate and view the latest trends in fashion,
music and entertainment. From this the Urban Zone
was created in 2007 to serve the Houston Texas area.
